DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Lea Terracini (Università di Torino)\, Barbara Pacc
hiarotti (Università Tor Vergata)\, Gerardo Morsella (Università Tor Ver
gata)\, Kosuke Kita (Hokkaido University)\, Lorenzo Cavallina (Tohoku Univ
ersity)\, Luigi Caputi (University of Bologna)\, Goro Akagi (Tohoku Univer
sity)\, Daisuke Kishimoto (Kyushu University)\, Dario Trevisan (Universit
à di Pisa)\, Aikaterini Papagiannouli (Università di Pisa)\, Marco Gipo
Ghimenti (Università di Pisa)\, Chiara Boccato (Università di Pisa)\n\nT
he aim of the School is to provide intensive mini-courses in several areas
of current mathematical interest\, as well as to present methods for conc
retely applying the theoretical tools. This would be the seventh event in
a series of Schools and Workshops organized both in Japan (Hokkaido) and i
n Italy (Pisa\, Turin)\, starting in 2015. Here you can find the 2023 and
the 2024 editions. The very first editions of the school have been hosted
in Pisa\, at Centro di Ricerca Matematica Ennio De Giorgi (see the 2016\
, 2018 and 2021 editions)\, where we plan on having the seventh edition.\
nAt its seventh edition\, the summer school is now well established and re
cognized for giving substantial visibility and support to young students a
nd researchers\; the organisers are committed to have contributed talks an
d/or a poster session. This way\, the school aims to strengthen the ties b
etween Italian and Japanese universities and their departments\, giving co
ntinuity to a success ful format.\nThe school is intended mainly for maste
r students (laurea magistrale) and Ph.D. students.\nLearning goals and obj
ectives: The aim of the lectures is to provide a practical approach to sub
jects such as algebra\, analysis\, geometry and probability. This also lea
ds to a deeper understanding of the topics. To this end\, we shall focus o
n various fields and stress their connections. Students who follow the lec
tures will be able to understand the practical aspects of the abstract the
they learned in their undergraduate courses.\nStructure of the summer sch
ool: We plan on having 8 courses. The courses shall be divided in 4 subjec
ts\, with 2 lecturers for subject. One of the lecturer per subject shall b
e affiliated to an Italian university and one to a Japanese university\, s
o to engage both equally. In total\, we plan on having 8 speakers.\nPlan o
f proposed subjects: \n• (Functional) analysis and PDE\n• Algebra and
geometry \n• Cryptography and applications \n• Applications to biolog
 y/medicine/epidemiology \n• Numerical analysis\n \nLIST OF CONFIRMED SP
